Here are a bunch of things I saw online this week that I enjoyed.
I love you IKEA monkey
“Stylish but illegal monkey found roaming Toronto IKEA”: Is this the greatest headline ever written? I say yes.
Nine years ago the Globe and Mail printed this instant classic and it’s lived rent-free in my mind ever since. At the time, a very well-dressed Japanese macaque was found roaming around an IKEA (a place where monkeys probably should not be) and was promptly taken in by animal control.
According to an article from last year, this little fashionista named Darwin is now thriving at a primate sanctuary, alas sans coat, but also away from any form of Swedish furniture.
According to the Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary, Darwin has “grown up to be a handsome young monkey.” Don’t make me cry….
Success!
I am being dead serious when I say I watched this Rickey Thompson video at least once a week for three months after the first time I saw it. This video is bookmarked in my Chrome browser. The opening beats of his laugh are etched into my brain for all of eternity.
I’m not really sure why I’m so obsessed, but I will say Rickey has very entrancing limbs.
Succession and Ratatouille, my two true passions

The BTS IG Apocalypse
After a four-night concert run in Los Angeles, BTS announced that they were going to take a well-deserved break before they start working on their next album, but they’re actually a bunch of liars because all hell has broken loose.
Being the biggest boyband in the world, BTS has kept their social media presence to a minimum, with all seven members sharing a main Twitter account, and occasionally posting messages to fans on WeVerse.
So imagine the pandemonium when all seven members created their own Instagram accounts earlier this week.
There was a slight learning curve initially (Yoongi posting/deleting, Jungkook trying to figure out stories, Tae accidentally following Jennie from BLACKPINK only to unfollow her three seconds later) but the boys have been posting a lot ever since and everyone’s freaking out.
Wait, this just reminded me of when someone posted this on WeVerse and Tae commented on it just to say “Uh….”
